Don't let those leftover cocktail cherries go to waste! 🍒🍸
The American Bar at Gleneagles has crafted a sophisticated cocktail that will elevate your post-festive spirits. And the secret ingredient? The syrup from your jar of cherries! But here's where it gets intriguing: a smoky twist.
Smoked Cherry Cocktail
Ingredients:
- 15ml of jarred cherry syrup (a sweet and fruity base)
- 45ml of mezcal (we recommend Casamigos for its smooth, smoky flavor) - a bold spirit with a hint of mystery.
- 10ml of maraschino liqueur (Luxardo or a similar brand) - adding a touch of cherry elegance.
- 60ml of ChariTea sparkling mate - a refreshing, bubbly companion.
Instructions:
1. In a tall glass, pour the cherry syrup, a delightful remnant of your celebrations.
2. Add the mezcal and maraschino liqueur, stirring gently to create a harmonious blend.
3. Introduce ice, allowing the cocktail to chill and dilute slightly.
4. Top it off with the sparkling mate for a lively finish.
This cocktail is a creation of Emilio Giovanazzi, the head bartender at The American Bar, located in the heart of Gleneagles, Auchterarder, Perthshire.
And this is the part most people miss: the subtle art of cocktail making lies in the balance of flavors. Feel free to adjust the measurements to suit your taste preferences. Do you dare to experiment with this recipe? What unique touches would you add to make it your signature cocktail?
