Marc Henri Reckinger. The Nationalmusée um Fëschmaart (Luxembourg) and the Centres d'art Nei Liicht and Dominque Lang (Dudelange) are paying tribute to Marc Henri Reckinger (1940-2023), winner of the Lëtzebuerger Konschtpräis 2024 and father of the Konsdrëffer Scheier and the Arbeitsgruppe Kunst (1968), renamed Initiative 69.

Cosima von Bonin takes over Mudam with her exhibition "Songs for Gay Dogs", a quirky and humorous visual symphony. The German artist, a singular figure in contemporary art, invites us to explore a world populated by astonishing creatures: cuddly animals, cartoon characters and emblematic figures from pop culture rub shoulders in a joyful cacophony. Expect to be surprised. From colourful textile installations to intriguing sculptures and captivating multimedia works, the exhibition is a feast for the eyes.

Museum night. Seven museums, the Villa Vauban - Musée d'Art de la Ville de Luxembourg, Casino Luxembourg - Forum d'art contemporain, Lëtzebuerg City Museum, Nationalmusée um Fëschmaart, Musée national d'histoire naturelle - "natur musée", Musée Dräi Eechelen and of course Mudam Luxembourg - Musée d'Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean, are opening their doors for the traditional Museum Night this Saturday from 5pm to 1am. "Black Air", a captivating exhibition running at Casino Luxembourg until 5 January 2025. Named after an electronic work produced in 1968 by Aldo Tambellini and Otto Piene, the exhibition explores the concept of black air, not as a vacuum, but as pure potential, raw creative energy. "Black Air" brings together renowned artists such as Aldo Tambellini, Otto Piene, Ibrahim R. Ineke, Semiconductor, Ayako Kato, Max Kuiper, Lisa Slodki and Hans de Wit. Their works, ranging from installations to performances, explore the many facets of black air through themes such as dark energy in the universe, the search for the ether, and the breathing of the Earth.

The 17th Cineast film festival, headlined by Croatia, continues at the Cinématèque, Utopia, Kinepolis, Neimenster and the former Vianden cinema. An exceptional selection of the best recent films from over 20 former Eastern Bloc countries. In addition to more than 120 screenings of 65 feature films and 50 shorts, Cineast will also be offering a selection of films available online. Side events include a jazz matinee with the Tamara Lukasheva Quartet (13/10 at neimënster), and the closing event with Polish band Neoklez (17/10 at Les Rotondes). Part of the proceeds will go towards the 'CinEast4Ukraine' charity project, which helps victims of the war in Ukraine.

Summer Wheat, "Dream Garden", presented at the Zidoun-Bossuyt gallery in Luxembourg. 1535° Creative Day. There will only be two official speeches this Sunday, from mayor Guy Altmeisch and Claude Meisch (DP), minister for education, children and youth. Stolen Ground. The second collaboration between playwright Anna Leader and director Richard Twyman, also artistic director of English Touring Theatre, whose Macbeth was presented at the Théâtres de la Ville last season, features a face-off between two friends. The Vianden nut market. This traditional annual event attracts many visitors and is organised around the harvesting of walnuts, a local speciality. During this event, the streets of Vianden are transformed into a large market where you can buy fresh walnuts and various walnut-based specialities, such as walnut oil and pastries. The market is also an opportunity for local producers to offer other regional products such as honey, cheese, jams and handicrafts. As well as stalls, the event is often accompanied by folk entertainment, traditional music and tastings.

Xanti Schawinsky: Play, Life, Illusion - a Retrospective + Schawinsky Reloaded by Monster Chetwynd. outside Switzerland.
